That is just the US, your EU whopping 3 carriers and 1.4mill "PERSONNEL" 400k soldiers are divided amongst a list of small country that have not partaken in real conflict, nor any real desire to die for a EU. Not to mention fighting with a 2nd rate armament.
Meanwhile Russia is the 2nd largest military power and is aggressive and much better trained then your EU. So yeah, be thankful instead of ungrateful to have the US as an ally. If we fall you sure as **** will.
But if you want to hide behind your modern age Maginot Line be my guest. Americans are tired of A) keeping you Euros from killing each other. B) Paying to fix your problems. C) dying for ingrates.
What difference does it make how many times the US military is larger, first of all there is nobody to defend from, what do you think, a couple thousand Middle eastern people in iraq are gonna come and invade europe? Oh and also, in the mammoth thread you (or darwoth) have pointed out multiple times that the EU is much smaller than the US and has less population, therefore ofcourse it has a smaller military what did you expect? Also, none of the soldiers have a desire to die at all, and I'm sure it's the same in the american military, but I guess your point is that american soldiers would die for their country but europeans wouldn't. Newsflash, they would. They wouldnt neccesarilly die for the EU, but for their own country, be it Germany, France or whatever. Also the 2nd rate armament is *****, you think a Challenger II is 2nd rate combared to an Abrams? You think a HK416 isn't the same **** as an american M4? *****.
Also you are way over estimating how aggressive russia is and have no idea what a conventional war between Europe and Russia would be. Even if nukes weren't used (and both sides have them) it would end in a bloody stalemate because the age of conventional wars between 2 sides with equally powerful equipment ended a long time ago. So no the EU doesn't need you.
For your point A, When has america done that? WW2? Yup, if america hadn't helped out, even america would have crumbled to ****.
For your point B, keep up the good work, really love the money.
For your point C, when did american troops die in europe for europeans the last time? What like 10 dudes died in the last 30 years? Yeah, you can stop dying if you want, won't make a difference.
