There is a VERY large difference in making shifting/bat removal autocast and automating a full on profession in game. One is a minor convenience while the other is actively gathering materials while saving you time.

This type of wording is what I was talking about before heff just HAD to make his offtopic post defending botting, which from his response he has more than likely automated a ton of **** no one else knows about.

OH **** SOUND THE ALARMS, DEVS PLZ FOR THE LOVE OF ALL ANTI-BOTTING PLS STOP LETTING US BOT BY CONTINUING TO SAW A LOG ON A SAWBUCK AFTER ITS DONE SAWING ONE BORAD, **** DEVS DIRECTLY S?UPPORTSDS THE BOTTIN HELP SUMBADHAY. RAOFAFLFSDMVKVNSD

...And no I don't support botting made with macros that do multiple different things. Clicking in the same spot over and over is hardly botting m8. I still get back on the game when the bait breaks and I put a new one on myself.

"In video games, a bot is a type of AI expert system software that plays a video game in the place of a human."
"Bots may be either static or dynamic. Static bots are designed to follow pre-made waypoints for each level or map."
source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_bot

"Typically the term "bot" refers to a computer-controlled player that takes the role of a human player in their absence."

source: http://www.giantbomb.com/bots/3015-597/

sorry for links from 1st page but I'm not about digging deeper :P

EDIT: so by these quotations even little things like auto-clicking can be considered as botting if you are stubborn enought.

Good to know jophbot is also a cheater(botter). Funny he went full stop after Kandarim corrected him

You made something that will automate a task for you while you are away. Thats the definition of a bot. It doesn't matter if you come back for the bait or not. The fact that you do this and think it's ok sets a very bad message for the community. "hey if he is allowed to bot fishing then what else can I get away with?"

The policy, if anyone is confused, is that you are not allowed to AFK anything. You can use Kandarim's sifter or other simple macros, but you'd better be there, at your keyboard, able to react to anything a dev might do near you or say to you or you will be banned and/or have your claim ravaged.

So I am not allowed to be afk while my cotton slaves field workers clean or weave the cotton, which takes like 10+ minutes on a full inventory?

Are you using a macro?

No, why would that be needed for it?

You put the char at the cotton cleaner, and then open "clean cotton" and click "craft all", which takes several minutes with a full inventory.
Same when putting a char on a loom and say "weave cotton" and "craft all".
I have not measured it, but it's like 10 minutes each, in that you can't do anything but watch them.

So, am I allowed to let my slaves field workers work without supervision? :D

the point is, I believe -- and at the danger of continueing the derail from the Berserker thread, that it is rather difficult for many players to tell the difference between server side automation (such as the craft all function) and client side automation (such as the autosift) built into the custom clients - even if they are labeled under 'Cheats'.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

You know the difference if you know the clients! :D

And I say it again, it is your client why we still have players, for every little bit it helps.

I mean, just as an example, sifting, a "mechanic" that requires you to click the mouse every 2 seconds... for hours! ...without even moving the mouse or anything else!
That is retarded, as part of a game, nothing else to call it in such a context.

It is also a hazardous, as it will ruin the sinews in your hand/arm, and also ruin your mouse, if you'd do that for hours each day.
[edit:] And it's not even smart from a pvp perspective, as if you'd give auto-sifting to players as default in comparison to single-click-sifting, the former will likely encourage players to leave their char afk for the pleasure of passing by pvp players! :D

Are you joking or really this ignorant? I'm honestly asking since you didn't use blue, hopefully by mistake.
