By that definition, ALL users of Latikai's are also botters, with options like auto sifting, or bat removal, or even highlight options that change the way the game is visually presented to the user to make gameplay easier. I appreciate that sarcasm at Heff's expense is par for the course on these forums, but such things are endorsed by the game dev team so throwing the term about as synonymous with the term 'cheater' is not cool.

Back on OP, bear in mind that if fishing were to be made easier, or automatable, then the rewards for it would likely need to be adjusted accordingly - using rubble as an example, how many rubble do you need to sift to make an egg, and how much phlegm do you need
to burn to pull the rocks out of the wall and break them up to get all of the rubble prepped for sifting? Having a sound for the end of a single fishing cycle sounds like a very reasonable start to make fishing a bit more play friendly without breaking it.

Fishing benefits are meh already even when afking it. Its mostly just a thing I do when I get bored and want to take a break from Salem but also want to still be a tiny bit productive. Having higher Flora & Fauna is important since you have to switch out the bait less often.

But yes, a fishing sound would still be nice, I mean, they already have the casting sound added.

There is a VERY large difference in making shifting/bat removal autocast and automating a full on profession in game. One is a minor convenience while the other is actively gathering materials while saving you time.

This type of wording is what I was talking about before heff just HAD to make his offtopic post defending botting, which from his response he has more than likely automated a ton of **** no one else knows about.

But there is no difference in the mechanism used at all ... only the results that can be achieved with it ... the same mechanism that can be used for sifting, which is perfectly allowable, can for example be used to chop through a large stack of logs ... also pretty benign, kind of akin to sifting ... or play a musical note on a timer ... hugely exploitative. Note I say CAN be used, but just because it can, doesn't mean that it has. I admit to using autosift. I have never tooted a horn on a timer. I'll let Heff defend or not as he sees fit, I'm just saying, jumping down someone's throat and labelling them as a cheater for admitting to performing an action that every player legitimately does is a bit on the nose. Of course you could have just been saying it tongue in cheek and having a go in good humour, it just didn't seem that way to me is all, and I'll not comment further.

No it can't. Autosifting is implemented as 'whenever progress reaches 100%, repeat the last click'.
Which is a pretty long way from 'find another log in the vicinity, open its flowermenu and select chop' or '25 minutes from now, sound my horn'.

That said, at one point botting was condoned (in the 'if you can bot it, it's poorly designed' mindframe from jorbtar) and many many people had many many things automated. I miss those days :( But it goes to show that nearly everything can conceivably be automated.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Well ... I did stipulate a stack of logs ... and you can add 'chop' to the client flower auto select menu ... which would mean all you need to do is right click in a single spot, either as you say when the progress on the previous log is finished, or on a timer for an individual chop even, resetting the chopping action each block. Searching an area for the next available would of course require more complex scripting, programmed intelligence to some degree, not a simple timered click. Anyone can do the simpler version with a modern mouse/kb without any sort of scripting know-how or needing to modifying their client in any way. Tooting on queue is simply another example of a click (or button press) with a timer. As clarification, that's all I meant by lumping those few examples together.
