Not really long at all from what I can tell there are parts where brick are exposed over top of plank and other such spots. So once the brick is down and soaks into the plank it would just be a matter of a few taps here and there after draining all the torch posts of course.

How much is decreased the attack power of those things when are too much near each other?

Lower damage, same crit chance, more shots flying around. Would you rather be hit with one big hit, or lots of little hits? Either way, the damage is not good for you and accomplishes the same end.
Besides that, it's also about making an invader put more effort into their raid. More torchposts/braziers, more running around to put them out, more black bile drain.

I'm asking this because i'm not sure if it's better to spam torch posts instead of use the right amount.
From what you say, spam them is the right way.
