make constructed items deedable

in ultima online the way of trading large sums of a given item (ie 500 charcoal) as well as a variety of crafted house add ons and such was to get a blank deed and click the item into the deed, thus making it a "deed for 500 charcoal" or a "deed for a pentagram" etc that could then be placed or redeemed inside a bank or container.

this would allow for a more expanded traders market as you could then sell chests, tools stations, braziers, even buildings and other constructed objects either via vendor stands or barrel swapping like anything else. i would stay away from adding inventory items (such as the charcoal example) as it would eliminate much risk in trading large sums of stuff. however i think this would be a good addition to facilitate the buying and selling of constructed items/structures

This will make alt-vaulting stuff much easier. Make a deed to a cupboard full of stuff, put it into alt's inventory, log off, profit. And if you can make deed on items on claims that you don't have rights to, then raiders will thank you for your idea :)

thought it went without saying that containers would have to be empty to be deeded.

the intention was to make constructed items deedable when they were built initially in order to be traded, not able to be redeeded again later. as such an easy solution would be that every item when constructed has a slot for a blank "deed" that is optional, if a blank deed is included during the build process the item turns into "deed of whatever" and goes into inventory.

Still sounds like it'd be primarily used for cleaning out raid targets.

That could be avoided by only allowing them to be used on your own p-claims, though.

how does it sound like it could be used to clean out raid targets if you can only deed them when they are first constructed?

i guess someone could bring 20 bars of metal to hijack your timberpiles by turning them into chests or something but that sounds like a stretch

Honestly, that sounds kinda hilarious. I'd waste half a day stealing boards and making chests from someone's ****, the new boards are a pain in the ass.
