Fellow,

Have you tried turning on tracking, and then travelling to and from Boston repeatedly? Every time you travel, you will have a new opportunity to turn up scents.

If you turn on tracking while standing on your claim, but do not leave the scene, you will not see any scents.

Faithfully,

This. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking scents should just pop up after turning on tracking, you really need to refresh the area. If after trying to refresh the area a few times still turns up nothing then your "roommate" is messing with you.

Tell your friend that apparently it must be some bug if there are no scents, that you will report it on bugtracker to the devs, and that they will investigate it in server logs and ban whoever is responsible for this (blatant lie). Of course without giving a hint that you suspect him. See what he will say then

You said there was a lean-to destroyed.
I think that's what you should take a look at.
The important thing here is - was it used by anyone?
Basically, if it was your leanto and your claim as well, somebody who destroyed it must have left a scent and there is no doubt about it.
But, if the leanto was yours, but the claim belongs to your 'roommate', then he could destroy it without leaving any scents, so if it was really YOUR leanto, it was bashed on your buddy's claim and there are no scents, you know who to kill.

The 'friend' destroyed his own lean-to. I have hence kicked him out as we've broken down all reason and there are no scents, he was the only one with access. Regrettably I trusted this person for his initial investment, with further investigation he appears to be notoriously stupid. His name is 'Waffles'. After I let him into my home out of my own choice, he disrespects me and steals for a lousy fortune of about 2000s. He will die soon enough. I know the general location he has brought the items as well and plan to launch a campaign for his head, one way or the other.

Oh God, Waffles

Sorry, but this guy is notorious at H&H for exactly this sort of thing. He just replies to every recruitment thread he sees, and even sends unsolicited PMs sometimes. There was this one hilarious occasion when he PM-d himself asking if he can join his village.

Yea, the only reason I let him into my camp was because he gave me 3 bars to start my smelter and wanted to move in. Weird things have been happening and honestly I planned on killing him for a while now, the same day I planned to act on this he ran off though, but he will be found again.

waffles is a giant retard, he poked around a good deal on jamestown the first week and since the first time he saw me putting **** on my vendor stand would send me retarded tells multiple times a day trying to get kinned, about wanting my hearth secret "for trading" and if i wanted to buy his turkeys/arrowheads/hay/salt/crickets etc.

have him memorized on both me and my guildmates murderers, only a matter of time until we stumble onto his claim and **** all over it.

He still is on Jamestown. In-fact, I know the general location as well if you're interested. The same place most likely has my chests with metal in it as well. Not positive, but it's where he was right before he logged out last night and he hasn't been on since.
