No it's not.

Nsuidara wrote:"This is basic statistics."

You showed you understand the basics in the first part of your post so why do you digress with bad math in the second half ?

Nsuidara wrote:10th toss have still 50% chance

We don't care about 10th toss chances.
We care about the chance to fail 22 times. Which is 1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2 ... 22 times, and is ridiculously low.

yes if you so ideally toss

but isnt ideally... random in computer method isnt ideally... so is possible 100% have chance for fail :P

but other say is work. so meybe end it and is solved ?

Maybe they didn't eat the candies from a feasting table?

One other person mentioned that he also had problems with the lollies (12 uses, no gain). I know i am losing you here, but that again only would happen ~0.025% of the time.

That, at least to me, indicates that there may be a bug.

Hey Nsuidara, it's pretty simple, we're not here for the sake of statistics and to rant about theory vs practice :
1/ People tested restores and found their bad luck were suspicious
2/ They ask for a dev to investigate
3/ A dev could launch an automated test on like 1 million of tosses, and if the medium success rate isn't nearly 50% then there's an issue

Luckily, I have a much better grasp of statistics than Nsuidara so you can all stop panicking. I'll put this on the list of things to check for bugs. You say the loyalist lollies aren't working, but some of you are saying your candies are working just fine. Can anyone give me examples of specifically which candies do seem to be working correctly so I can narrow down which need to be checked?

That won't be needed since I'm sure the RNG is working correctly. It's going to be something in the individual candy's code like it's assigned to the wrong food group or not assigned at all, or there's a 5 instead of a 50 in the 'restore chance' field.

I'm also moving this to the bugs forum.

I've only experienced it from a feasting table. Haven't tested with them in inventory.

Can't remember first session, it may have included Truffle Taffy - but last session (22 in a row) only Loyalist Lolly.

ah, the very definition of irony.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

yes yes...
if you use correct theory for this task, but if you use not corrent theory for the task...
each single candy is "single think" restore/not restore group

but they made "collection" for X candies and calculate... chance...

sorry, but my my country has a high level when it comes to math probability, encryption, etc.
and I do not say that in this I am good, but we had a similar category math in studies.. and i smillar think, what you said - and wasnt corrent
of course, you can arrange such a task to fit the theory to the task ... but this does not mean that this is the correct thinking...

however, I find it hard to praise in another language in that category conversation :)

So I end this conversation about this, and let him 100% right
because I was a little bored ...

because autor topic was create topic not for calculation of opportunity - but only notification something said "broken" but can be true or not.. only @TotalyMeow can check :)

True, you can't use statistics to predict a single result. Any one candy will always be a 50% chance and no one was arguing otherwise. What they were trying to say, and what you seem not to understand is that statistics can tell you how likely it is that a series of rolls will have certain results. In this case, 22 rolls ended with no restores, and that is extremely unlikely, not a 50/50 chance as you have been insisting. Maybe it's a language thing, but you really do seem to be saying there's nothing wrong when there's almost certainly something going wrong with some of the candies.
