They say crafting mmo -- its chopping wood mmo.

Oh come on, let's be fair here. It's whatever you choose to spend your time doing. For me, it's the spend all day preparing food that will be eaten up in 5 minutes MMO.

Need wood to cook ^^

Yep, I do that step too. Right now my humble noob existence consists of chopping blocks, whittling them into sticks, foraging a tons ingredients, fighting with tinder drills to light a fire, then roasting all kinds of stuff over said fire. The food is usually consumed by one person in a matter of minutes. Rinse and repeat. I'm sure this will be even more fun once my little farm starts producing stuff.

I hope a saw is on the way for the boards update, now that making timber piles is harder then mining.

We need something like stamp mills for lumber, saw mills. Built and powered by water maybe?

Windmill is another option. Not historically accurate although they produce enough power that they probably could have worked that way. Tying it to water just seems iffy because of water being kinda meh for building near already. Just too many "can't build here" junk to deal with imo.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Water is also out because Jorb already said that water is about as useful as Sarchi

That's not true. You still need water for soaking dead animal skins in. That's way more useful than Sarchi :D

Torquemada wrote:Is there any chance that every one could start adding more and more of there findings and H&N they currently have. spaces from walls, fences, buildings, sawbucks, PAVED or non paved ground flat or non flat. Or even start in another area of the forums away from Announcements section? Just how large the area you used, maybe a format such as this...

1) Large Paved or non paved area (Dirt) 10x10 or what ever
2) Walled or Fenced in area (and is there any thing in the area other than the doors and walls?)
3) Spaces from the walls fences and the other wood piles
4) Time it took from the final construction of the wood pile to the collect board stage (AND what you might have done to speed up the process if any)
5) How many piles you created and when you gathered what was the Dried as to the useable.
6) What is your current Hammer & Nail skill when you did all this?

I figure the more and more information we all contribute in one area with out all the other commits, just report there findings nothing more would help one another, just a little hard to weed out all the posts of what players did do get there results. Please add as much information for others player as you can.

I got 40/40 dry boards. Pile was situated on not walled in grassland. Closest object was a tree 8,5 tiles away. H&N aren't important for drying but for planing boards.

That'll make farming a lot more fun for sure.
