I have had 5 silver boulders total so far, in a mine which has easily over 3k boulders mined out. I don't believe in silver.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

im digging tonnels . 5 tiles from each other , 100-200 tiles lenght.in all directions. silver can be missed in those 3 blind tiles , but chance is verry small coz silver veins as i notised way longer and wider then 3 tiles .

Yes most definitely. Crazy things can happen in this game.

Dorrian just accidently clicked his purse instead of his canoe. And he was standing in water. All coin gone lol.

Always bank your coin. Especially while drinking liquor.

Kandarim meant nothing bad or wrong. He was just saying you should be more careful with info you are sharing publicly (in this case on the forum).
But it seems you missed that point and continue to share info that shows you as a nice target for raiders or worse.

That, and people can STEAL your purse, obviously. As a single item, a large bag of coin is valuable because it's one item with the thing people often want when they steal things anyway, and that's silver. Item values are pegged in silver, etc.

And while no one has, to my knowledge, ever sat down and compared the opportunity costs of various profitable activities, I suspect that silver mining is not one of the "fast" ones, even if it can pay out big when you "hit". If you want fast (certainly compared to mining) go stab some wildlife in the face and sell the hides and/or soap you make from the lard.

You also have stuff like cotton cloth for coin, although that requires a pretty large amount of land, and it's tedious. comparatively safe, but tedious.

Taking other peoples Nice Things can be stupidly profitable, but bears real risk. The most dangerous prey and all that. Especially since they can turn around and kick you in the teeth from scents, whereas you do not have to deal with vengeful beavers that will burn your claim to the ground and take what they feel is valuable when you go Beaver hunting.

I almost told him that was going to happen some day, but that's how you learn to drop the canoe from the equipment window ¦]

Yeah he is having a rough day. He lost a Brick of Fallen Jericho when trying to repair an item that used bricks, then when he went to add branches to his fire it took his Aged Driftwood

Shame none of this was captured in a stream...LOL

i just removed everything from the equipment window except for the canoe: that way nothing else can be dropped into the water accidentally. With the decent toolbelts we have nowadays, there is little occasion for me anyways to swap out tools manually.
