loftar said that H&N is not relevant in the drying process. So I guess you simply placed those piles together and they got mold from each other

This is my pile, from which I got a mere 6 dried boards & 34 mouldy :D
So it would appear either you need more than 2 tiles space from other structures, or the mould is rather random & I was unlucky.

The more data we have the more we can pin down how this works exactly! :)

2 tiles from lifable objects and I got 40/40, waiting for second pile 6 tiles from house and 8 tiles from first pile.

Another question is - when do other objects matter? When you build the pile, when you harvest it, or does mold "grow" gradually through those 5 days?

We made a fenced in area (I can provide the exact dimensions when I'm off work) but essentially made 3 piles within that area in a clover pattern equal distance from each other and the rail fence

40/40 dried? If that is true then its the non-liftable structures which have made the difference, which is pretty interesting to know :)

40/40 dried?

Yes, 40 dry boards.

Well I was wrong about tiles sry:/
First timber pile was 12 tiles from second pile and 16 from house, there were drying frames 6 tiles, tanning tubes 2 tiles away and fields 4 tiles.
Second timber gave me only 20 dry boards and was 12 tiles from house and on field (damn that is bad:) ).

Man, Salem is around 20% of what it can be. Just play Salem for the moment and u can have updates... ¦]

Back to Topic:

I had 4 Piles and i got different results:

First i had a Pile 40/40 and he was next to liftable Objects (Sawbock + Bench)
Then i had 2 Piles around 20/20 which were really close to a tree (i will Chop him now :))
The Fourth Pile was build next to a Coaling which was gone after few hours. After 2 Days all the Coalings around 10 tiles were gone, but the result was close to 0 Dry Boards.

So since Coaling is not a liftable Object i guess it has something to do with that.

Also interisting is how H&N affects the planing of the Dried Boards. I am above 100 H&N and still got loads of Choppings. I would guess around 25% failed!

Another Question to answer is: Do we need all the 40 liters of oil for 8 boards to get oiled or is less then 40 liters enough for one process of oiling?
