Providence January Crime Audit

Postby JohnCarver » Wed Jan 13, 2016 12:27 am

Audited Crimes on Prov over last week or so to get an idea of the status quo.

*On average one character a day is being murdered on prov. That character is not always of high stats but often enough that is the case.
*There are about 20 Waste scents being left daily.
*There are about 2,000 Theft and otherwise lesser crimes being left weekly.

Just figured I'd share my audit findings for those who would then like to argue crime on Providence is too high or too low etc. etc. Given the population etc. etc. I don't find anything alarming about the crime situation until the upcoming raid and combat balancing.

Ah interesting. Seems like about 65% of character deaths are coming from Murders. 30% from Revenge and 5% from blood moon KO or darkness creation related incidents. That is quite surprising indeed as I didn't think Revenge was being represented in the grand scope of things very well. Apparently it is.

I would have bet on a quite high number of (alt) deaths through dissease.
Also I would have expected some deaths through dissease/madness by not so ambitious new players or people who just try out Salem first time.

Possibly. I was excluding characters below 10 biles or so.

How is the statistic looking for only those that you excluded?
And how high is the ratio between those above and below that threshold?

Can you tell how many hands have been lopped off with Eye for an Eye? Just curious.

64 players died to natural causes this week on providence and 20 on Popham.

Kinda hit and miss how deep I can get into the EXACT reason for various deaths without auditing the server traffic around each one though. Very few of these appeared to be 'real' characters though with names like bank17 etc. etc.. I suppose I can add tracking logs for upcoming weeks to separate madness and disease deaths out from the mix in a more parse-able fashion.

64 deaths out of 1108 players per week doesn't seem 'too' harsh. But I think you can get more killed every week if you try harder JC.
