So called scare crow is **** and a waste... or bugged to hell... take your pick.

No crows on mini-map going into Mine... came out and I had 3... all within sphere of influence of store bought scare crow... before I put it down... not a crow to be seen.

HEY- JC- thought it was supposed to keep them away... not attract them!

Did they automatically get scared away shortly after? He said there was a "generous" amount of time before they start affecting upkeep.

It doesn't stop them from spawning, they should simply fly away before they succeed in destroying the field. Did they ruin the field?

Yes, two are now at 600% and curiously one humus Bin is empty... it was sitting on it when I went in sword waving

I think what gets me is entering/leaving a Mine is considered a 'login' event... seemingly based on what's been discussed already.

Makes it hard to do any real mining/sifting/etc... if every time I come up I proc additional crows. Especially with the new stronger than ever demand for iron and developed iron...

I was mad and crazy when I ranted on your driving off folks... but I plowed the seed...and here you go fertilizing it.

Cheers

We had yesterday the same effect. One of our fields in range of Scarecrow was going up to 600%.

After knowing of effect that lasts only one planting round, it is not as bad as we thought, but in range of scarecrow this should not happen.
We will monitor our fields, if its happen again, i will post it again.

I found the problem. Scarecrows were working but not in the range in which they were telling you they were. I am increasing the distance in which crows will look for scarecrows so that there is not a mismatch like that. Should be fix'd in next restart.

Is it now the distance of the shown circle while placing?

We need a free playermade scarecrow option, perhaps with shorter range

Yes, next restart the scarecrow should be scaring crows away in the radius shown when he was originally placed. Crows were only recognizing about half of that radius.

+1, perhaps hideously expensive with sea island cloth or something like that.
