So while the important metrics and statistics were in the desirable range for us on hardness, time invested, tears made etc. We felt that if we rip it down and rebuild the raiding system we can and will do a better job. While it would be nice to roll out every change at once as a total package, existing development constraints do not allow for such things and most major system rehauls will come on pieces like this. Our target os 4 patches of this magnitude or so over 30 days or so and we should be in a lot better place than where we started. At least in terms of fun.

aaah! Now those words made me feel better :D Ok I will keep my trust in you guys and wait to see what changes come after this. After all the insults and raging in this thread I have to say that at least its good to see you guys back in here and the mortar, perma death on crime debuff and the new wall are awesome. Im just thinking the no tea combining everything else is a bad combination
IM BACK!

Many new raiding skills and abilities shine at restoring or shifting humours under brazier fire. All stuff that is no good and no fun if you could drink tea for similar gains under crimes.

Yeah.. I'll happily welcome criticism once you guys get the full picture. IN the meantime you have the new walls to get a head start on things and should be building some mortars if for no other reason then to blow each others trees up for fun.

once again because retards are to stupid to see the writing on the wall.

1> population is in a nosedive for months, popham was a total and complete flop because as i argued for months the victory conditions along with the stupid "quest" to even begin them do not interest the player type that would go there seeking conflict in the first place. additionally "raiders" have been partially blamed for this overall decline which is absurd.

2> the majority of this games population are now and always have been actually and genuinely stupid, to a man 95% of the community is nothing more than bleating sheep waiting to be shorn i have never seen such a weak community even in the carebear games i have dabbled in. a generation of players from dumbed down childrens titles like world of warcraft and everquest 2 that are completely and utterly incapable of playing a game of this sort to any competitive level whatsoever and frequently can not even go to town without something happening to them.

therefore understanding the above it is quite simple:

these mechanics and the hinted at new "raider" (  ) mechanics serve two purposes:

A> making it "easier" for you to "sneak around" in a base and steal a few things

B> making it for all practical purposes impossible to inflict significant damage even when numerous idiotic mistakes are made both in terms of risk and time investment.

no tea, replaced by humor shifts. this is so you must risk a 1200 to all character to these inane mechanics instead of the already sizeable investment of a 450/450/600/600 and actively sit there mashing "abilities" for the hours upon hours at any time in which a slip or split second lag spike now kills the character. to repeat yet again even with shifts you still have a time investment many fold more than what it was off of the tea nerf alone. there are three more brazier types incoming. this will undoubtedly be braziers for the other humors. couple this with death on KO while under a crime debuff and the mortars that are fired from perfect safety, the concussion change and so on and it just becomes obscene.

the removal of cloak and dagger on candles also tells me that these skills will require hundreds and hundreds of cloak to be effective, thus furthering the face skinning GRIND one must SLOG through to even engage in these comparative trivialities.

but hey instead of walking 2k tiles to have max "run off" (which still requires 30 minutes of standing around before it is actually gone) you need to walk 500 tiles to wait your half hour which now takes dozens of these repetitions, repetitions that anyone who raided never did in the first place because it gave the defenders a window to come outside and undo everything you did over several hours in a few minutes, things that now takes hours upon hours upon hours.

lockpicking has been alluded to here, grappling hooks have been alluded to here, again as with the other mentioned items this is nothing but some lube on the end of the log as it is shoved up the communities ass hoping to "entice" and "excite" enough of the microscopic raider community to stick around long enough to do the testing so any holes in the system can once again, be closed. this all follows the trend of making "raiding" an annoying tit for tat game of retards slinking around stealing each others store clothes, if you are a player that wants a competitive environment where you can actually impact the landscape of the world then once again these changes and the future slope of changes go the opposite direction.

without even knowing exactly what is coming i can already think of more than a half dozen ways i could use these things in unintended ways to cause massive and catastrophic damage to people, this is because i have played games like this before. trouble for me is i just do not see the upside to doing so or investing the disgusting time requirements in a dying game to own the same people (most of whom i doubt will be around anyway) that i have already owned for years under far better, far less time consuming and far more fun systems that have progressively gotten more and more stupid.

and for the cherry on top these changes are nothing but an unplanned kneejerk reaction to a bunch of idiots getting themselves killed in epicly stupid fashion, the server was in the middle of a multi faceted conflict from multiple sources that was heating up by a lot for the first time in many months. it should have been allowed to play out and if garbage like this was to be foisted upon us it should have been when things died down and got stale again, not in the middle thus ruining **** for everyone.

also you heard it here first, since it is now possible to shave hundreds of humors off of a stocked player there will be a tobacco/insanity "improvement" sometime down the pike as well making it either impossible outright or many many fold more tedious than it already was to smoke thousands of silver worth of tobacco a day to avoid being stocked.

Nope

Darwoth wrote: this will undoubtedly be braziers for the other humors.

Nope

Darwoth wrote:the removal of cloak and dagger on candles also tells me that...

Nope. For a vet you are really way out in left field with these conspiracy theories. How about the fact that candles use to be silver-purchase only, and now you can spam them with beeswax instead, thus needed to adjust their values based on the new way they are introduced to the game?

Anyways, Yeah you quite solidly have absolutely no clue what is on the horizon, and the 'fear' of the unknown is causing you to lash out with a giant wall of text of what you 'think' is coming but is in no way accurate. You can keep littering this thread with failed predictions and horrible assumptions of what is going in, but I would think it is your advantage to just watch how things play out since I've already told you several times you are absolutely nowhere even close with what you think is on the horizon. Maybe its terrible, but not for any of the crazy inaccurate reasons you are shouting about.

say "nope" in the public eye all you want, we both know the general outline follows my "conspiracy theories" to the letter which is why i am the last "vet" with a clue that was still playing.

the specifics of individual minor mechanics as they are now or to how you finally tweak them are irrelevant, you have literally followed the exact slope of everything i have ***** at you about for the last year and a half all the while saying "nope" yet it always winds up that way anyway.

there is no "fear of the unknown" for me as i stopped giving a **** with the patch notes and have already been enjoying myself via dusting off my ultima online characters, i just cant stand to see more of the usual deflection and doublespeak that caused so many others to finally pack their bags and am calling it as it is.

if the game ends up being playable maybe ill come back for a few months until you ***** it up again, if not and your new "raider" mechanics do nothing but create an opportunity for retards to "neener neener" me after i quit by yoinking **** out of my bases while making it so i get to grind out tedious ***** for many more months to have any shot at meaningful retaliation i will simply throw it all in the ocean while turning the lights out.

point being my last ***** to give was expended already.

It's about the future... Some people think the future means the end of history. Well, we haven't run out of history quite yet.
