I'd rather see implemented a quasi-realistic weather system than day night. Gives you room to do similar things (such as forageables linked to certain conditions) if you want, and doesn't come with the problems of overlapping with current lore.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

That's actually a compromise I'd like. There's so many weather conditions that could be implemented and would in turn, add quite a bit of variety to the game. It would do wonders in adding life, as many have stated in this thread.

Myeeah, sure, that'd be sweet too. But I still don't get how some night time shadows could be so hard to implement every couple of hours...

As long as this can lead to different conditions being evident in the (currently non-existent) skybox, this would indeed be a great compromise. Clouds that change when a storm rolls in, that sort of thing. I think fog would also be a really neat addition.
