@John C : You are keeping track of those new Passive Gains ? So that you can adjust those numbers in case one of them is too powerfull or too weak ?

Liming a hide don't make lime hide but only gives H&H points.

Have you actually checked how long it takes to gain points? As JC pointed out, this is by no means a replacement for existing proficiency mechanics.
I just spent half an hour mining and chipping some boulders and got approx 1.5k M&M points. About the same as I'd get off a single sterling geode.
New players still have no chance in "catching up" with veterans that can simply buy all the inspirationals they need -- whether or not they'd ever need to catch up in proficiencies anyways.
