Am i missing something here except for the tears, as i have yet to see JC chime in on this.

Allowing the desturction of authority objects under a TBF doesn't undermine the concept as the defenses otherwise are far superior for bases properly built (with auth objects protected). The point of this was not to destroy peoples' towns. The point was to stop the rampant and otherwise protected spread of invincible auth objects the top towns easily and without repercussion propped up. That's pretty much it.

Also, and again for emphasis, this was not a recent change, but rather one that has existed for several months now. So the recent passive player base, by your own assumption, is not being punished for their passivity.

JC is preoccupied indefinitely but always with us in spirit. We have some stuff in the works to make sure you know we're still around.

I have np with this apart from these issues.

1, you made the mortal sin of not announcing this ( you don't think you deserve an outcry? people have spent real money here)
2, bases that are properly built! ( oh please this effects bases that properly built, you don't realise that taking out claim stone can take out several lines of defence in one go? I guess I should have the doubled the squares between each line of defence when I designed them so less could be taken out in one go? that comes back to not announcing the change and not allowing time for people to alter their defences)

although I believe I a neutral here, I do devs think have got this wrong, the thing that makes it worse is you trying to defend your position, i think you should have held your hand up and said we make sure it not happen again, but i just a humble player, and i guess my opinion not count?

while I think on, am I right in believing I can place boundrystone next to brazier, but can't place brazier next to boundry stone? I had in past with coal clamps and braziers, this seems to me you not actually ready for us fortifying boundry stones?

so much griping from newbalewbs that dont know how anything works, aside from the many "pedestrian" reasons for paying your upkeep for one thing tier four witches can cast the "hells bells" curse on unpaid bells which creates a small chance for "the ferryman" to appear demanding silver anytime someone enters the town radius, if the back upkeep is not paid through the bank of the person that triggers the ferryman the character is killed and the body teleported to dreamworld.

Nah, that would be too easily exploitable as a defensive measure. ¦]

So there is no reason anymore to pay the bell?
Well, on the other side there is oh so much more reason to pay the pclaim under the town...

That is a buggy thing but that's how it is, if you want to be as space efficient as possible, place the boundry stone after the braziers, place 1 or 2 placeholders if necessary, they are quite cheap after all.

do not pay your upkeep at your own peril should a witch happen along.
