I say system is fine. If I lose my character because I was stupid or someone killed me then it seems I will have to bust down my walls. Chances are if I lose my character because of murderer then I probably want to move anyways and really only need to get loot from the base and then run somewhere else. If I die due to something else Licking Moldy Boards. Then I should have a little bit of a punishment to put my base back together for doing something stupid.

That's an interesting opinion, then why inheritance at all?

You can say what you want, it is a flaw in the current system, and both re-doing doors and keeping key-alts is unnecessary work that both dont do well to enhance immersion.

Inheritance is different from taking on items of a dead person. Inheritance provides you with a portion of your biles and proficiency. It does not give you everything like it was before with a damage to your biles and proficiency. If a family member passes away and leaves me land as inheritance I cant just walk on the property and open the door with magic keys that appear in my pocket I have to get them from a middle man like a lawyer or family member. Worse yet I don't go and strip down the dead person and parade around in their cloths.

So if you suggest changing the system to work that you get the keys right off and get to go straight to that homestead and grab your items off the player. Then how about we just get rid of permadeath altogether. Lets just make it where when you die you respawn at your claim with no skills but all your items equipped. That way we can skip all the BS of making a new character and naming it even doing the tutorial. Lets just make it so fast and easy for you to recover you can run right out to where that murder was and grab his scent.

The point of having inheritance is to give you something to fall back on but not an instant character. If you don't keep up with the steps needed to secure your character through planning a will or making some back-ups of your keys then permadeath hurts if you do prepare then it just hurts a little less.

When alts are required to play a game - this is quite a signal of major flaw.

Not required you are simply using them to your advantage... You are more than welcome to not make that alt...

Required, if I don't want to rebuild my steel gates, trapped inside of inherited base.

Or we could have a mechanism to bypass the current tomfoolery, which is unintuitive and doesn't improve the game despite what you say, I'm sorry.

And just like in real life i can put my keys in a safe or lockbox held by a 3rd party in a 100% secure location that only myself or people i authorize can have access too.

This would probably be the best solution, it would be much better if only slave keys needed to be attuned.
