That Daopa guy never stops streaming and I am pretty certain the majority of his followers/viewers aren't actually real

You guys are idiots.

He's said here, on stream and on many other occasions that he streams for a gaming site and off of his personal website. The viewers are from the gaming site and his site. They see only him on screen streaming stuff, they don't see chat, they don't see anything else. It goes through Twitch but is off of his personal website. I also think he said that the steam is sometimes also picked up by other mmo/gaming sites and the Eve sites if something important is going on. I think he's on the Eve-online fansite when he's streaming Eve.

Here's his personal website where most of the people are watching him from. Most of his fans are Eve online players.

His website is right on his Twitch page. Most big Twitch streamers do it this way so they can control their marketing and sell merch and other stuff. Twitch is just what they stream through, it's not their main way of getting viewers or their main site.

More interesting is what's going to happen when Twitch gets some major competition when YouTube's gaming stream service goes live soon.

I am no streaming expert but this "embedding" thing basically sounds like you get a bunch of views without anyone actually watching or giving a **** about your streams. Maybe it's legal but it is certainly a poor practice.

It's embedded in his own website and on another website. What don't you guys get, these people are watching him. They are watching through his website through Twitch. They just don't see the chat. Many, many EVE players are watching him in the background as they do something boring. Haven't you guys ever watched something in another window while chopping trees or whatever?
