Nothing is fair in life, I thought we were trying to be realistic here ;)

Pretty sure i said allowing things that you could not do else where would be unfair, but suggestions for things to come, or the possibility of such things on the website or else where are your call, we just bring up ideas :)

Those kinds of updates would be nice, I would think for most players. But really it was more brainstorming of what an app COULD do. They can be quite interactive, to just an item data base. Think RIFT had one of you logged into it you could get items in game. FFXIV had some that are just crafting trees and item data bases, to name a few.

I think a large portion of the community would be inclined to log into some sort of app, what features are possible is entirely up to you at MM. But to just simply discount the idea entirely because of a few features that some in the community object to would be sad.

Would seem better to discuss what features could be allowed, who knows, maybe some third party would pick up where brain storming left off. I, however, lack the ability to actually make the app, but I'd probably check it out of it was more than just a wiki.

(Or just insult me for offering a different vision of the future lol, you can do that too!)

This is a very good idea, apps are the future, anyone who insults or is opposed of this is living a lie. What this app could do or how far to take it is another story. But to simply disagree because you don't like it, and won't say why is just pointless.

I am not saying make the entire game playable on an app, but I do think updates and notifications would be a nice thing. This inspirational project of using the specific ones to use less inspiration could be a nice example of what could be in such an app. A food database if someone could work that out. Having access on the go would be nice instead of seeing it on a squished down version of a screen on a phone or pad.

Seeing wiki like stuff would be a nice app to have. Having a app that would interact in the actual game world is just a terrible idea and will not work on many levels.

This is a GREAT idea.

I could actually do something like this, if I had some help from someone that owns an iOS phone for testing. It would be impossible for me to know if anything works on it or not, since I only have access to an Android.

Look at games like clash of clans, millions of players.. not everyone is a pc or console gamer, but everyone is an app gamer. Your somewhere away from home and have some time to kill, most people with smart phones Droid or apple will load and play an app on their device, why not have them play Salem?

I think the literal game is too beefy for a phone, and even most tablets would have too small a screen to play effectively even if it could run.

If you actually think that salem would be playable on a mobile device then please prove this using some sort of remote access app to your computer and prove this.

I just did attempt Teamviewering my way around salem :D The ****** connection I'm on makes it impossible to get acceptable delay for anything important in game that requires reaction speed, and would probably be a hassle for all but the silliest tasks, which I might end up using it for anyway despite the lag. Which is tree chopping alts and cow poop checking alts xD Tbh I feel it's more legitimate to do it that way than make a bot to pick up manure or chop trees. Rather do it myself in spare time even if painfully choppy on windows phone + teamviewer.

You maybe know that these people who only play with mobile arent kind of people that would enjoy salem at all. (permadeath, you have to search wikis and forum all the time to understand anything)
Requires LOTS of time. They dont have lots of time, they just want to play some game for few minutes when they got spare time. You barely can even log on and walk off from your bed and house. Competition in mobile games is absolutely huge. This thread can be locked, pointless discussion. Impossible to do, except if you recode whole thing with some smaller scale maybe singleplayer.
