My s/o's family are doctors, and nurses, i've never seen a single one of them put them on, also when i wason the force and had to escort inmates for procedures not able to be done in a normal prison, i'd never see any of the workers in both hospitals they were contracted to wear them. But, i wouldn't doubt it if people wore them for the sheer comfort in a hosptal, or is it a dress code in your area?

Ugly? Definitely. Comfortable? Absolutely.

I live around the corner from one of the guys who invented 'Crocs'. I've met him a couple of times. They were actually made to be boating shoes for walking around on wet boats and docks. They got the idea from a different type of shoe that used the same material for a 'spa shoe'. He made various types of boating clothes and shoes and 'Crocs' took off into the mainstream because of how comfortable they are. They're also mold and bacteria resistant which is nice.

I'm a nurse, I wear them, as well as a few of the male Drs. Females have an assortment of shoes, but men really don't. It's either these or running shoes, and honestly blood or betadine is a pain to clean of your shoes compared to crocs.
