Dear Map...

So basically it was a fine day, just completed one of my usual trades and I port back home, then this happens ¦]

This is another shot that was taken 1 day before:

My reaction when it first happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UArBkfROhY
As you can see half of the screen which is essentially the biome I live in get's merged with the providence territory, also minimap appears split in half,1 part showing my home, the other Providence.
For those wondering I'm using Ender's client and this happened after porting from providence>home and vice versa.
And yes it get's fixed if you teleport again either way but thought I'd still make a post about this should it happen to others and they don't know what to do.
Temporary solution seems to be teleporting to home from providence or the other way around, permanent solution is up to the devs obviously.

it can happen like 1 in 1000 teleports, but if you relog or port it will usually vanish.

I don't think anyone has given it a name, but "map tearing" is probably most appropriate, as its' what I think best describes it. The server borks and sends you some of the data from the proper area, but other data that is wrong gets sent. It nearly always is at a different height, too. At this point, it's being really difficult to track down or low enough priority in things (given the fairly simple fix of just leaving the area and coming back) that the bug hasn't been fixed.

Good documentation on this, by the way. Too few take the time to make a good report on a problem. Browse around the forum and you can see some very interesting screenies from this bug.

Actually it's not server sending wrong data. It's just that when you port server sends you randomized coords, but with a stroke of bad luck the new coords are very close to the coords from the place you ported from. Client already has terrain tiles cached for those coords and decides to display those rather than pull them from the server

I see.Well it was pretty funny tbh and like you said I don't expect it to be high priority demanding for a permanent fix since it's not that big of an issue that can't be fixed by a simple teleport, nonetheless I thought I'd post it regardless. Thanks for the response and helpful insight :)
