You know you are going ko most of the times. Bleeding, Animals, Bats, You don't ko instantly and this is not a bug

Let's not go around in circles on this discussion here. Let's keep it business. There's plenty of other places on this forum to circle around and talk at each other without listening to anyone else.

The devs have more or less stated they aren't interested in changing this behavior currently. A reasoned explanation of why it should be changed might help, but then one should also consider why games cater to the lowest common denominator and "fix" losing things, and explain why it would be justified doing in Salem, one of the harshest games on the market.

try approaching the item from different directions, either lag or weird hitboxes sometimes allow you to pick up items next to objects that you think are a lost cause
