Mandatory: 'required by a law or rule'
I don't see a rule that says you have to engage in PvP, only that it is a HUGE portion of this game.. and how you missed by that concept is far beyond my ability to understand.

Not... Challenge... Based?
Assuming you meant Skill based..
Combat in this game was meant to be an assload simpler than, say, Haven & Hearth.. go figure out that combat system.. damn near rocket science for new players, and still tricky for seasoned players.
Its meant to reward skill, the more you understand about the combat system, plus your understanding of the situation your in, combined with a bit of reflexes, and a drop of luck, you could take down (or at least escape.) someone with higher Humors than your own..

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but coming to the forums to complain about this is ridiculous.. you played Salem, knowing full well that its a Survival Crafting Sandbox MMO, with open pvp, full looting, and permadeath, yet you still have the audacity to complain about one of the major features, calling it unfair, and even implying that it should be removed? Baffling.. truly baffling, almost laughable..

Welcome to Salem, where apparently we need to have a new title, listing the games full feature list, including a giant red warning that says: "YOU CAN DIE, A LOT, AND LOSE EVERYTHING" at the top.

No, I believe he wants the attacker to issue a challenge and the defender be able to refuse and thus be perfectly safe. Which would not be 'Open PvP' at all.

well I agree last time I played was like half a year ago ....I was just you know fighting a beaver thin I knocked out and before my computer could render the graphics at my claim there was someone in there one hitted me I actually woke up dead ..... as in the window for death came up first thin the animation for my charcter activated ..... so yeah I wish there could be some kinda tweek done .............it almost feels like the can load up a image of the server map just to find any new people comeing up in the world to go find them and kill them ...... to make it feel almost impossible to get any where .....to get to the top. Just maybe if it does exist prevent people from cheating to find people and actually leave it up to luck or the tracking skill ... but I never went down that branch of skills so maybe theres a tracking skill that shows magical foot steps every where and you can find where any one person has ever been and just fallow this track....idk just when you are found and you have spent half a day walking one direction and thin your found out of no where I mean the chances must be if not impossible .... and on top of that the person who finds you just so happens to be a head hunter I mean come on ..... and you got the crime system in place but if no one can kill that person ? what punishment is there to be had or did they just get one big playground to troll around in. Hopefully im just paranoid and unlucky and this next time threw playing this game (wich last time a rage quite for almost a year or however long it was) I get far and im going to the darkness just to make sure im pretty far out
