As a person with an almost always online crime alt, I gotta say this is a little annoying to adjust to. There is much useful knowledge I still lack and will take some time to figure out, like the mentioned 'just what counts as whittling' etc. The thing I really don't like is that before going to bed or whatever, i'm wanting to make sure that the crime alt has no insanity at all, so i'm doing things like blasting my trumpet a lot of times, but I don't know when it is enough and I don't need to do it anymore. Did I just waste a ton of inspiration? Did I just waste ten minutes playing with this butterfly? These questions could drive me insane lol.

If we had something to tell us when we had no insanity at least, it would solve that as well as help greatly with learning the effects of different activities. Each of us needs to find the way to counter insanity that suits us best individually, I don't see any harm in making it easier.

Pretty much exactly what ive been saying. Keeping me sane is not a huge feat. Its the fact that i feel like i am wasting valuable gametime on doing maybe pointless stuff, Wasting tobacco just cuz i waited a few minutes too long before i went to do some boring chore.

Mouser i cba to respond to more dallane'sque flamebaits. Have a good day.

There are ways to figure out how bad your madness levels are. It is very clear in the patch notes. For one, the closer you hear the voices the more madness you have. The voices are very important.

This is simply not true. But if you lack the research skills to 'uncover' a general system for keeping insanity down then I would once again simply suggest you hire one of the countless players who have already found their 'groove' with the new system.

He is a pure troll JC.

He has been told multipul ways several times to keep insanity at 0 just by rotating a few tasks, AND/OR spreading out your inspritional studying throughout your gameplay and not all at once.

Yet he still complains.

Just give him Level 9 madness and ***** him off.

If you knew when you were at 0 insanity then you would know when you are not 'wasting' your time. And this system is very much designed to be full of waste.

If I wanted to give you guys the ability to min-max this by knowing exactly when to start-stop doing things then I would increase the speed in which you went insane by at least 500%.

Are you saying that I Should put in some kind of forum command that would instantly give players in-game tons of insanity? hmmm.... ¦]

Was under the impression it was also needed to avoid the whole .. staying online to dodge summons thing. So giving people ways to stay online anyway would be a bit counter productive perhaps.

Also, for the people wanting to test the mechanic they only really need to know one thing, that could also be tested for i guess. Is the amount of insanity needed to advance between any two madness levels always the same? If so then you can simply go to the 2nd phase and do chillaxing stuff back to the first, whereas going below madness 1 will not indicate when you've hit 0 insanity. Hope i've understood more or less what the terminology is from just skimming the forums in my wait for June 18th :D

Yes please. For a meter i wouldnt mind 500% passive insanity gain. Then when all the guys saying its good as it is would cry instead and id very much enjoy that.

Salem so far has always rewarded being thoughtful & planning ahead. The insanity system seemed flawed in that regard.
But ok you said you designed it with wasting our time in mind. Fair enough. I didnt think you did and thats why i was complaining.

Oh and fine if you kill me off but do the same to holylight :)

Well he is clearly insane and mad on the forums, maybe it should reflect on his ingame character?

Did i also hear correctly, you are considering that ALL characters on a single account share the same madness / insanity meters ?

I fully agree with NeyroShop.

Invisible "hearts" and "fuel" that no one knows when it will disappear. It looks silly.

In fact, I did some tests and see that the system is very easy. And not add the slightest difficulty to those who study it. Just add a little bit of regular operations.
Why not make a statue of Carver in the city that after a five-minute prayer at her they heals completely Insanity. The effect will be the same.¦]

I see the problem only in the absence of help for beginners in understanding the system. it is necessary for them visible "hearts" and "fuel" which can determine that enough to do stupid things. And it is time, to calm down. Rather than requiring them to hundreds of silver for the things that they do not see (the level of insanity).
And after receiving the level of madness things get even worse for the beginners, they lose a very expensive thing for them. And they do not understand how to fix it. They have no time for the five-hour experiments. They came to get fun after a day of work or in the evening of the weekend.

This system is very easy for the veterans, but it is very difficult for beginners. The meter of insanity can fix it.
