I get the following error message when trying to feast.

java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: bg
at haven.Gobble.<init>(Gobble.java:138)
at haven.GameUI.uimsg(GameUI.java:569)
at haven.UI.uimsg(UI.java:208)
at haven.RemoteUI.run(RemoteUI.java:69)
at haven.MainFrame.run(MainFrame.java:247)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

I am using a Nvidia graphics card.

Update to newest Version of Java 8 did not help;

Madness

Postby Kish » Sun May 31, 2015 4:28 pm

Most likely I'm crazy (hearing voices). But masks are not changed.
Gluttony It causes an error
java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: bg
at haven.Gobble.<init>(Gobble.java:138)
at haven.GameUI.uimsg(GameUI.java:569)
at haven.UI.uimsg(UI.java:208)
at haven.RemoteUI.run(RemoteUI.java:69)
at haven.MainFrame.run(MainFrame.java:247)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Java 7
(Custom client by Latikai/Ender - no errors)

How do I know my level of madness ?

mod note: identical log to another error posted as gluttony issues. Merged threads.

I also get this crash. I first found it yesterday when trying to gluttony. Every time i try to open gluttony, 5 to 7 days ago was the last time i used gluttony. I have no problem doing anything else, only when i try and open gluttony. As for the esc crash i have seen since the updated mini map patch, i just work a round it by not hitting esc to close and windows.

was called haven error
java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: bg
at haven.Gobble.<init>(Gobble.java:138)
at haven.GameUI.uimsg(GameUI.java:569)
at haven.UI.uimsg(UI.java:208)
at haven.RemoteUI.run(RemoteUI.java:69)
at haven.MainFrame.run(MainFrame.java:247)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

windows 7 service pack 1 intel core I7 975 3.33GH 16 GB ram 64 bit operating system Geforce GTX 670 driver version 347.88 ( yes outdated) and i do not have any game mods

i also use Goggle Chrome, since April i read Chrome no longer supports java, i don't know if this is relevant

custom clients are not showin masques because they are not updated yet so be careful!
you better get to fishing/picking flowers on that character! At least until we can get cheap tobacco
btw i started hearing voices too, it's awesome. I think you hear voices when your madness level drops so even if you are level 9 (totally safe) you will hear it once.
Until the custom clients are fixed you can check your madness level with the default client.

A bit off topic, but to answer this, I found this article (as it can cause issues with many other Internet platforms and portals): https://java.com/en/download/faq/chrome.xml#npapichrome. In that article, it has a link to what you can do to enable the functionality again, at least for now: https://java.com/en/download/faq/chrome.xml#npapichrome. Note: once you download the .jnlp file, you can launch it from a shortcut on your desktop or via Java's control panel (need to view the file cache to see programs downloaded; can make a shortcut from here, too).

A fix should have been rolled out already. Bugs like this don't always get answered here when the problem is a bit more public, but I'll PM JC about it just to make sure. I can assure you he posted by Sunday afternoon that he had a fix incoming. (I'd have to dig that post back up again.)

Its fixed - he fixed it the day after it showed up.
Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
