That's actually a very good idea, or rather, from getting poisoned in general imo, from timber snakes etc. too. The mushroom poisoning in particular doesn't have much of a consequence at the moment anyway so that would make things more interesting - a poisonous mushroom tend to make you hallucinate after all so should provide a larger insanity hit than other forms for poisoning.

It's really really easy to keep insanity up if you actually are playing the game. Don't be so negative. It may not be the same amount of sanity increasing sources as insanity giving sources, but that's because the sanity giving ones are very common tasks, while the insanity ones are more uncommon. Therefore if the suggestions are kept in that same vein it shouldn't hurt the average player at all.

It seems so. I would like to add that doing anything that would add insanity during a Bloodmoon would increase the insanity amount greatly.

Also praying in a Church should reduce insanity slightly.

I dont care if theres more sources for insanity. AS LONG AS I DONT HAVE TO PICK FLOWERS. I dont whittle. Nor do i catch butterflies lol. Give me Sanity for chopping wood,chipping stone, building things. Hunting deer & other animals, Drying things give me sanity for that and im all good. Forcing me to pick flowers or whittle some crap that i dont need makes me insane irl.

If it's talk about a big one-time hit to insanity during blood moon I won't like it much. It should instead be a multiplier that increases gained insanity from both time and actions.

I agree that the sources of insanity recovery should cover all the essential professions in the game, but I'm sure it will get there eventually. Maybe start growing tomatoes to throw at people in the stocks as a side hobby for now? Seems like a great way to get out some of that frustration. :mrgreen:

Suggestions:

When you gain /lose insanity it shows up in the system chat log with a value.
Add the insanity/madness meter as a toggle option.

My metal suggestion was only a half-joke. I think it'd actually be a cool thing if witches at least could play some infernal insanity-increasing music.
