The main problem with plague is, that experienced players dont have troubles with it at all -> they all wear plague masks and doesnt care at all, meantime all newbies dont know what is happening, getting killed. This ends in a way, that:
1. No other masks are used (maybe other than executioners masks).
2. First buy of every player if he survives to the moment that he has 700s, is to buy doctor's masks.
3. Newbies that joins the game, and dont know about sickness or sometimes even close the disease tutorial window, just die, sometimes they permadie without even knowing what is going on, and they stop playing salem at all.
4. People storing corpses/ sick alts at the statue, so everyone get sick after he TP to Providence.
5. People storing corpses/ sick alts at stocks, to kill anyone that somehow did not had doctor mask on him, when stocked.

BUT, removing diseases from Providence is also not good idea. I was thinking what could be done, and what was done in reality while towns were diseased, and I came up with couple suggestions/innovations:

1. Burning site -> At providence some huge fire -> burning site should be added, where dead bodies could be destroyed, it will give chance to helpful players to clean boston from bodies -> it would both save a lot of newbies from disease, and i suppose also remove some Providence lag/ loading screen.
2. Biles drain and Fruit Sirup -> At providence sick people should receive some bile drains, like witches do, but lesser. Some easy to make (like 2 berries, and a nut) / cheap to buy from white stalls Fruit sirup should be added, that would stop that drain for some time (f.e. 1-2mins). That would stop people from leaving sick alts for long times to spread the disease on purpose -> if they really want to do that, they will need to spend some time to make sirup, and also be on the char and drink it each minute, so their character would not die fast.
3. Isolation -> Sick people were always isolated from society by locking them in their own houses. It would be nice to have option to send some sick person back to his claim, if he is sick. I imagine that in a way like attuning a doll to someone -> you start the process that takes like 30 sec (maybe some message like "You're being isolated.Run!" would be nice too). If sick person gets out of range, he is not afk, so np. But if he is afk and wont move out of range of isolation process, he is teleported back to his claim. Because we now how 20 mins Providence teleport cooldown, he wont come back instantly.

With such solutions diseases works as they did, if someone is eager to make someone sick in providence still can do it (just afk is not an option), beeing sick by random meeting with someone that is sick also works, if someone is eager to help newbies also have chance to do it (by sending sick afk guys back homes/cleaning bodies), and no more sick afk people all around.

Tell me what you think of it.

hi everyone,
i agree with tom's post. i also can't help wondering about all those bodies lying around the spawn point in boston and the people trying to get other people sick.
i am glad to see that the devs make so much effort to help with this situation. as i see it, a new character does not have the means to invest to a mask or to meds.
imo it would be more fair play to give them a chance to gather the silver for it first, as it is more fair play to get the chance to build defenses and level up your biles
before you or your base gets attacked. thanks to the devs for their efforts about this, the tutorial looks great btw, i really loved the indian village :)

When I was starting I got diseased and had no money, no knowledge, no Indian Tracking. It was just a matter of time till I die. I knew the more I stay online the more close to death I was, so I added the Doctor and checked if he was online now and then.

He will provide the undetermined amount of medicine you'll need, but also he has the experience to guess the most probable cure. In my case 4 or 5 items were enough. An inexperienced player could spend a lot more than that and still not find cure.

After the cure I avoided Providence, and whenever I go, instead of standing still waiting the city to load you can Ctrl+click the minimap to move away from players. It's a bit trick avoiding being blocked but soon you learn to go around things. You want to move away from every player. This require Ender or Latikai client to see players on minimap.

After you get cured go for indian tracking skill and farm that 700s for the mask, save money on the banker NPC, so it can't be looted. I didn't and was looted when I was around 300s, had to start over again. Anyone can be a witch but so far so good for me, and it was the only option I had, considering my experience and time available.

I say suck it up and either ask from help, die, learn to cure it, or go scavenging for some cash and buy the cure from the stall. I got infected when I first came back a couple months ago and only had a like 10 biles. I was able to find someone to help me fairly quickly after I bought about 5 leaches thinking that was the fix when it was tonic I needed.

This is a known game mechanic and an interesting one. I have gotten a disease a few times now and each time I take the 10 minutes needed to pay attention to the symptoms and go make the cure.

I get aggravated with bone fractures constantly happening and the amount of biles it reduces and having to make a splint. However after the first 30+ times it happened I just learned to suck it up and make a splint. It is part of the game and it will happen. Go make a cure and patch yourself up.

I can give you two points of advise only one you will probably see as helpful.

1: Suck it up buttercup.
2: If the screen is black and you see Loading.. you can still click and navigate on the screen. So just click away from the spawn area and walk somewhere else. The chances of you bouncing into a sick person coughing at that moment seem to be far less if are in the process of moving away.....

I think they should add a guy pushing a cart around town yelling "Bring out your dead". And let us put the bodies on the cart to be 'disposed' of.

Only if we get to put in people who are 'almost dead'

The truth is that while it would be lovely to distroy all the skellys it is far too open to abuse since witchs are able to use skellys to put a curse on their decendents. Giving us a short cut to tidy up would just not work with the mechanics. Best we can do is carry them away from the main town.
Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

I think you're making the situation sound more dire than it really is. I've never used berry juice or a mask myself, and I've been to town any number of times. I've never gotten diseased. If a brand new player gets diseased and dies, it's not a huge loss and it's a lesson learned. One doesn't need to spend a great amount of time in town, especially with the new expanded inventory. A trip every few days to sell off hides and the like and check player stalls for nice things is really about all that's needed for a new player. Trying to trade with other players makes things a little more complicated, but if you're at that level, you're probably experienced enough to know what you're doing.
