[MAC] Unable to choose gender in tutorial + other question

Postby kaskaed » Mon May 18, 2015 12:21 pm

Hello! I played Salem a couple years ago or so, and seeing how it has been updated I wanted to give it another try. :) The game seems to be working perfectly fine, except for the fact I cannot right-click the characters who let me pick my gender. Or rather, when I do right-click them, nothing happens, and I just remain grey!

Am I missing something I have to do first or is there something messed up? I am on a Late 2013 Macbook Pro running Yosemite and the latest version of Java.

Thanks!

PS. I bought one of the founders packs a couple years ago, do I still get access to that once I get back in-game? Or is it gone because my character was deleted?

1. Make sure you have your OS color depth set to 32 bit
2. Can you walk by left clicking?
3. Your founder's pack should wait for you at the postman, assuming you play on the same account that bought the pack in the past

Thanks for your reply.

Left doesn't work either.

I'm trying to figure out how to set my color-depth to 32 bit, but there doesn't seem to be any option for that natively. Googling...

Well, I haven't figured it out yet...and I found a couple topics on these forums about it, but no one really has a solution. I tried both of the modded clients, and none of them seem to work either.

I'm using a 64 bit machine, so I don't see what the problem would be with color-depth anyway...

super annoying, but it looks like I won't be able to play on my Macbook. When I played before I was on a Mac Mini and it worked fine...but w/e.

brief googling revealed that apple removed the option to change color depth. Probably they decided it might be too complicated for Apple users.
Maybe you need to try some apps mentioned here: http://apple.stackexchange.com/question ... -lion-10-7

In any case, Salem requires 32-bit color depth to be able to properly recognize clicks, that is what exactly you are clicking.

Yea I tried those, none of them work/give the desired effect. I'll try playing on my Windows partition later. Thanks for your time.
