im my opinion there were only 2-3 problems with the "old" port-system:
1.) criminals using alts to port away stolen goods when they have crime-debuff themselfs
2.) realism of porting stuff from one location to another
3.) ? maybe lagg - i cant evaluate the influence of constant porting on the server lag

none of this problem was fixed by the new system though (maybe lag)

to fix 1 you could make ppl unable to port with stolen item (items with scents)

I see the new "system" is actually a step forward to ultimately rip us off the teleportation. So we can just wait and see. Even if the problems are not solved now, they may in the future. If we agree that there are problems so to speak.
You thought I quit.

Normal and unfortunate. No simple solution for this on our end.

I really think that fast travel cool down was a good idea, i mean, people that live on the darkness going to boston to get water?? That always looked like an exploit to me (or an act of madness haha). In my opinion realism is the key for Salem, and that was one of the reasons why i uninstalled all my games (including the whole steam xD) just to play this game.

Timer doesn't sound like a good solution. Travel should cost silver and the cost should depend on distance. This solves alt abuse problem.
Travel should be free only to nearest landmark/mass transport station.

Alternatively two items can be made to allow instant travel: one rare forageable, but available in all biomes, and the other expensive craftable.
Finding "forageable ticket" once per half-hour of wander-mode foraging should be ok. Longer travel may require more items.
This way foraging noobs can have their free ride and advanced playes have to pay for additional travels.

Why u should add timers:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ij_-sVSa6tY

RIP drama missed because of no logout and port timers

It makes it too easy for noob players to be killed. There's no other defense for new players than to log or port. They'd die in droves if they didn't even have that. If they're even using the standard client they don't even have the other players on their radar which makes it even harder to survive against people chasing them.
