Fast travel was certainly not causing the lag. Although less people in town may cause better performance for some people and I do imagine people will think at least a tad bit more about how often and when they port to town.

It is important to us that we have a travel mechanic in place that could afford us the opportunity to encourage more localized systems, territory disputes over resources, player controlled mass-transit of goods, etc. etc. in the future. Unfortunately, when two parties porting to providence was essentially ALWAYS the correct course of action it made any serious thought and discussion on those systems entirely pointless.

This seems like it is created to stop panning in providence.

Maybe a different solution.

When traveling from youre leanto > providance, you get a timer the heavier you are the longer it takes.

Want to go there to sell **** tons of youre wears ? No problem, but it takes 10 mins travel time.

Want to go there carrying nothing ? no problem, we will launch you from a cannon and get you there in 2 seconds.

Same with returning, travel times should be dependant on weight.

Just i feel though that my system/the new system hinders the stall sellers.

I expect the price of gold, gems, and glass to increase.

I had no idea we could fast travel out of mines...

If you have problems with trading just use an alt to bring the goods to providence.
OFC it's still limited but better than nothing

nope just had a lagspike. Minor one, but doesn't seem to be completely gone

edit: all I can say about the porting limitation is copy pilgrim's sentiment:

I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

I can understand doing the cooldown port timer, but damn it wastes time when crafting for people having to sync up with people and if they forget an item...
