That is very different from the point I was trying to make, though. :)

The problem with the music, to the exttent that it is a problem, is that the coded sounds need to sit around in RAM, quite simply; it's nothing about buffering or looping.

That error is, at least, not related to the OoME you're getting.

If anything, you should take a heap dump of your client right before it crashes and send it to whoever wrote your custom client, so he can see what leaks.

the problem is i also get the crashes on the default client :/

edit: also how do u tak a heap dump?

Then take a dump on your heap on all clients and share it here >.>

https://visualvm.java.net/download.html

Use that, or anything a dev might otherwise require instead of that. I found that pretty useful for trying to figure out my old issues that turned out to be just a ****** CPU :P

Yeaaaah 700mb. Nowaijose.

Unless anyone feels like downloading that, that is. Alternatively, would it not also be easier to do some memory profiling?

Heap dumps tend to be as large as the heap. Also, are you on modem, or what? :)

Technically ADSL, practically, some of the worst coverage italy has to offer :P I can download at a whopping 640kbps.

In that case, I still don't see why you should think of 700 MB as a big deal, but oh well. :)

Either way, I downloaded the heapdump, and it does in fact turn out that the audio error is in fact related to your problem, in that the audio errors keep sound clips queued up without being able to play, which uses a lot of memory in the form of Vorbis codebooks. If I were still in charge of the Salem client, I'd fix this by making sure that the clip queue is cleared if an audio line error is encountered. ^^

Either way, an almost even better question is why you're seeing audio errors to begin with... don't you have a sound card, or what?
