One question, when you do all these crime acts, u leave scents, right? What prevent that someone get ur scent, track you, and kill you? Or put in the stack to try to kill u with whips and deseases?

on the same vain on questions,i was raided, very minor one at that (only lost some tea, dried tobacco and a few inspirationals), but there were no scents left. Is this because they had a high criminality (artifacts)?

turn on tracking and reload area. criminality only decreases BB drain on commiting crimes (40 bb per crime is default)

What can I do when the offender shows up (they will traces)?
In addition to trying to strengthen the area? You can come with friends? I pray? D
Fortunately yet no one tried anything but surely it will come sooner or later.

It's probably best not to engage a thief, but if you feel strong enough and your friends daring and close enough you can fight him. I'd say 95% of the time it would scare a thief off just to see an active player come at him or her, but I worry about that other 5% of the time. Choose your battles wisely and engage with an alt if you can.

If a thief does any crime it will leave evidence. You can use that evidence to stock him/her, track him/her/the goods/homestead, revenge kill them, depending on the scents. If for any reason you suspect crime, turn on your tracking and see.

Honestly the best protection is still a wall and a locked gate. Focus on building that and most crime will be prevented. Drop a torch or two in the meantime.

Have your homestead or village be so obnoxiously difficult to attack compared to the apparent profit that people think twice.

You can discourage a lot of people with just stone walls and braziers. You also want to layer walls such that people have to go through several (taking time, and committing a crime by destroying the layers) and cannot inflict a great deal of splash by having the weakest layer on the outside.

You might also consider having some boobytrap chests around as nasty surprises to people rifling through your stuff even if they do get through. This will require springs, which are somewhat expensive in the stalls, or cost real money. Alternately you can catch 150 butterflies per trap, but use no spring.

If and when you get brick walls, and anything like an effective array of torchposts/braziers (braziers, lets be honest, if you have brick walls, you have braziers) almost no one will be willing or able to get through. They are brutally difficult to get through. Also expensive to make.
