With this new beetle juice, i would hope that the same for normal pilgrims comes as well. (so we can go into the darkness without needing perma tea / eating)

Actually staying in the Church should give you a buff. The longer you stay the longer the buff. This buff would protect you against witches (unable to attune a doll or disable the effect of any curse for the duration of the buff), against darkness drain and blood moon effect. Or it could be an increase in inspiration rate maybe? Witches would have drugs, pilgrims would have God.

I think this is the main function of it. This seems like the main function of it. They could stop a Waste Attack or a Big Fight by starting it, especially during the new expeditions.
