Apologies to anyone disrupted by my moderation. I just saw this thread getting derailed into a trainwreck of shizuka/pilgrim interpersonal relations and didn't know what to do with the posts. Welcome back, weary traveler, to the story hour. Today we are treated with more happenings from Helmsdeep. Shall we begin?

When we last left off, there were many disturbances erupting in the once prosperous town. But rather than answer, all that poured forth were more problems, continuing the stew of turbulence. One by one, the “strongest” citizens who stood as a core and unified the town abandoned it. Before long only THREE core individuals remained, quite insufficient to defend such a large asset.

If you recall, the beast known as Darwoth had taken up residence in the town's mines, gobbling up whatever precious metals he could find. After a short time, spurred by the loss of face and town members, the town's leader, who allowed the beast haven in the first place, challenged the monster! Let us call this person Blood for fictional purposes. Even though Blood had advocated not minding the presence of the Darwoth, it had bothered him from the start and gnawed away at his insides until nothing was left but a black, seething core of hatred. So tormented, in fact, he activated a cave-in within one of the mines to kill the Darwoth, eliminating the threat sleeping within his very walls.

Had this been a mere mortal man sneaking about in the caverns of Helmsdeep, this may have ended Blood's concerns for good. But this was no man. This was a monster. And any suckling childling raised off the teat of a god-fearing mother knows the tales of the Darwoth and that he would never tolerate such an overt act of violence. In no time at all, the Darwoth swept through the town, annihilating all mining structures in the remaining mines, feeding off the tears as he went.

Those three members, eyes pouring forth delicious droplets of rage, fueled by emotion and wanton abandon to self-preservation, removed the Darwoth's permissions to the access the town's above-ground resources.

To poke a beast once is curiosity, dear children. To poke it again is idiocy. Especially when all you hold is a dull, useless stick in place of any real strength. So, can you guess what followed this action on the part of the remaining fools of Helmsdeep?

Yes! That is right, traveler. A waste claim was erected and pointed in the direction of the once bustling community.

And it is here I leave you. So many unanswered questions yet again. What will become of Helmsdeep? Will the stragglers survive or find themselves lapped up into the waiting jaws of a danger greater than they can handle? Until next time, friends.
