so why are you asking for mechanics?
The confusion is probably coming from things like this; like what construction? Would a crane speed up construction, or make new structures or what? Excavation? Lime, clay, rock, etc? Does it speed it up, or get more, or what?
not of those but to drill wells for maybe oil, water, springs, sulphur, carbon, quartz, marble, salt, coal, diamonds, etc. even fossils,
yes it could make things faster but mostly for newer resources needed to construct awesome things like architectures later on implemented
and if used for finding the recent materials as well could make it faster to get them and maybe higher purities of them too.
this could be useful for an advanced excavation method.
now for the fueling it would require charcoal to make the drill work for lets say a few hours of drilling.
maintenance would require oiling and cleaning it just like any machinery.
the materials gained from the excavation could go into a bin
and oil and water springs would have a limited supply once dug up.
the other materials could be used for constructing the parts to make higher quality cranes or buildings or even jewelry such as the diamonds
especially for that sweetheart you wish to marry in game you could make her a nice diamond ring.
also this could give a way to find more gold flakes or gold nuggets in fact.
and how about the crates that could hold 4 slots that can carry really heavy furniture or with a dolly load those unmovable big barrels in them for transporting a **** ton of whatever
to where ever that is too far to carry. you would save on time and it would be fun to export to other colonies there are possible ideas to add onto this.
so if not a barge to carry the crates over seas then use the waggons that i heard were also going to be implemented to carry the crates and save on time.
the beauty of this is it would fit the theme for trades and sales in exporting/importing just like the old days.
this would also increase interest in commercial use for building trust with not just towns but neighboring cities... starting from the the ground up from a small town to a big thriving city.
also the crates could hold larger livestock like horses or cows or sheep or pigs or even zoo animals
the possibilities for transporting are endless as the game will continue to add more things to trade or sell, and the building blocks for other types of structures or vehicles.
