Salem Map Redux

Postby pistolshrimp » Fri Mar 13, 2015 12:34 am

Our new map is pretty awesome, however for me it looks a tad too computer-y for my tastes so I tried my hand at re-doing it.

My changes are mostly cosmetic; textures to make it seem more period appropriate, outlines to appear hand-drawn, addition compass rose and title (which no map should be without), yadda, yadda. There are a couple of practical additions:

1. Removed "Burn" from edges to show area beneath.
2. Very Basic Grid around edges.
2. Adding space beyond the map so people can add their own more detailed grid. (In Gimp go to Filters --> Render --> Patern --> Grid you can modify sizes there)
3. Added Ocean space for any notes you might want to add into your map.
4. Added a Map Legend of known landmarks.

Everything should line up with the original, including darkness. If anyone has any suggestions I'll see about working them in.

Teh Map:

Right-click and "Save Image to Computer", or "Copy Image Location" and paste it in a new tab if it's too big for your browser.

To Do:
* Add Snow Cap to Mountains
* More Carrots (^ ^ ^ ^ ^) to Mountains
* Map Location Legend

Looks really nice. Would probably substitute ours with it if you could find some way to 'grey' the mountain ranges to look more mountainy.

More so then they are now? I grey-ed them a bit since I sent it to Meow.

Ah,
Indeed you did.

You should make a legend for the Icons on the map as they are announced :)

I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
