1st thought: How exactly would a witch or the priest kill a ghost? It shouldn't be too easy nor too hard. (even paying 10k to the priest to permakill a ghost would be too easy in my opinion). Perhaps you should "feed" either a spell or the priest with ghost scents. And when the spell or the priest have enough of them they can perform an exorcism. Ghost scents would be left by the ghost randomly and when performing bad deeds thus adding a time limit for how long a ghost can exist (if you leave scent when walking for example it would seriously limit how far you can go forage and stuff without risk). Perhaps a new skill should be added to be able to see those scents when tracking is active.
2nd thought: I like that one but I have a few concerns. First, where do these claims spawns? Is it at the location of death (which would make sense but would make it impossible to be a ghost if you died in providence and there would be an issue with overlapping structures)? Is it random (then you would be screwed if you spawn in a crappy location)?

Hmm, you could spawn right where you die, and imo if your body is screwed by a witch, you should become a ghost that roam the world looking for that witch. You can spawn with the tracking info leading to that witch. If you managed to kill the witch via curses, you can inherit again. Then your heir can burn your body and put it into a crypt (or something more expensive) to pay respect.
Otherwise, you are able to roam the world for 3 days and wreck havoc.
Of course in order to become a ghost you have to be worthy first. Maybe 50 Perennial Philosophy.
Then we also have to limit the actions a ghost can take, like walking through terrain, fences, into claim, but can't look into things, loot, interact, can only chat with their killer or the one with skills, every time they commit crimes (tresspassing, cursing) their time on earth decrease etc...
If you died and scalped like normal nothing happen. How is that?

Maybe you should read what the lead dev posted. There is no fear of death if you just keep playing. It doesn't fit in this game.
