yes ofcourse, just saying that the "win" of planing, hauling, refilling is not enough compared to just cuting it with pickaxe. imagine filling 10 smelters, you need 130 ore(i do 13/12), that means 13 boulders to cut. cant measure the time at this moment, but hauling theese boulders to stampers is three runs with cart or two if you take one extra with you. then you fill the stampers, if ore is close enough then you need to wait until they finish stamping the first boulder(unless you intend to use one stamp for one boulder exactly) either way, alot of hassle and draging cart is also slower than simply running.

other option is to cut em right after you mine, no need to worry about moving thru mineshafts with carts, get stuck at boulders and so on. just mine and cut and get out in one run.

sorry but i choose to do manual work regarding ore and rubble.

i still use stampers for granite tho
if i could fill 3 boulders to stamper then the planing thing would make more sence.

I can't say they are worthless, they still have their uses and can keep you somewhat ahead on things, but their value is not much. It's far faster and more efficient to just pick and load. Make them loadable and double the hold slots. The cost to build, space required and dleayed return has made the stamp mill obsolete.

Did someone test how fast does steel pick chip stones? Steel pick is on the same difficulty level as stamp mill nowadays, so it would be good to compare them

I see nothing wrong with stamp mills. As procne said, they can do the same job of chipping stone while you are doing something else.

You also could not put multiple boulders in a stamp mill. That was never changed.

I see something wrong with your statement; "while you are doing something else". It just takes longer to fill the stamp mills than to chip the boulder yourself. And that is unless the stamp mill is right next to you when mine the boulder (and with the size of the mines that is not happening).

Well in the long term I imagine you loading a large sum of boulders into a mine cart, and then taking that to your stamp mills.

So I think we will have to wait until that goes in before I pass any final judgement.

Can you at least make it so that we can move minecarts between mine levels?

make alt, make him pickaxe, boost his YB a bit, get him collecting - still cheaper and more effective than stamp mills.....and better yet, portable ¦]
