Go ahead, tell them what a full set of "not that heavy cloths" with full artifices would weight!

It is, for the most part, not the cloths but the artifices that make up most of the weight (as far as I can tell).
You, JC, might really want to look into this before commenting like that, you might find out that it is "slightly" unrealistic, even though I know (un)realistic is only a valid argument if it works for you. ¦]

Except ofc you say it's ok that a few laces and badges add 20kg...
[edit:] Ok, then it is balanced where you want it, I still say it's off, but what does that mean after alll...

It's official you are the new Frakked.

You COULD tell. You could make your set of clothes without artifices. Put it in, and notice that the MAJORITY of your weight does not disappear. Once again, You are wearing things like Metal Helmets, Hide Cape, and some of the heavier items in the game. Then complaining because you chose to wear a combination of the heaviest stuff. As always, you simply provide tears.

*sigh*
Badges weigh .12 KG
Chatilly Lace weights .08 KG

So lets just go ahead and average them out at .10 KG. This of course means you would need to wear TWO HUNDRED badges and laces to hit 20kg. Far more slots than any one character could even have. It is your complete and utter failure to test or educate yourself on the things you complain about that causes me to wonder why I havn't dunce capped you yet.

I did mean artifices in general when I said badges and laces, sorry for me not making this clear.

I am not the one responsible for clothing in our town, so please excuse these examples, as I can only compare what I have lying around...

Adventures boots with rainbow scales and bone button 1,26 kg
Adventures boots with arrowhead and traces 1,59 kg

Fishermans coat with amber pin and some gem 1,76 kg
Fishermans coat with traces, feather and runestone shard 5.12 kg

This does show that:
- different artifices have different weight
- they add up their own weight 100% onto the cloths
- if you socket a few of them, they make up far most of the weight
- that runestone shard adds the complete 3kg it weights, which makes me wonder how you sew such a thing into a coat int the first place, not to speak of shoes, belts, hats or a stole...
- for a complete soíl digging set, thats 24kg for the runestone shards alone

Excuse me for my weird view on things, but this looks odd to me.

A runestone shard is pretty hefty, yes. It's a head-sized piece of stone broken off a slab that was probably a few feet tall or more. Maybe it's a silly thing to slot and you can suggest something better. Or maybe you just shouldn't go on a foraging expedition wearing a full set of digging gear.

So far though, I haven't seen anyone give a concrete example of any clothing that is unrealistically heavy at the outset, or after being slotted. We have a lot of lightweight materials like polyester to make our clothes out of today so maybe it's difficult for you to judge, but have you ever lifted a large piece of leather, like a cape-sized piece? It's not light. Same for metal armors. Same for sturdy boots or shoes.

Not sure if it's implemented already or not, but it would be nice if higher quality clothes weighed less, not only because it would encourage better dressed characters, but the better the clothing the more slots, the more slots the more the weight from artifice. Also it might make sense historically.

Edit: Also appreciating the lore drop there. I'm intrigued.

I suggest having equipped clothing weigh nothing.

WHY?

go on and put on some medevial chain mail or some of the first diveing suits and tell me if you could still carry as much as you could have before. weight of clothes affects how much you can carry, no reason whatsoever to change that.

it was easyer before when you could run around with metal hats and capes made of bear skin, but now you need to adapt and get clothing that doesn't weigh as much, get some clothes made of textile and other lighter stuff and stop complaining.

The weight of clothing that you are wearing should probably be reduced similar to how stuff in a back pack is, but it should definitely not be reduced to nothing.

Why, instead, don't you wear your cloths only when you need them?
