At first I thought you are being nice to me.
Then I type it in the urban dictionary...
You thought I quit.

I do intend to implement negative effects for playing naked.

Problem Solved.

Now, that sounds interesting! :D

I fully agree that this is necessary, though I wonder what we are going to get here...

As you are at it, you might look into these two things as well:
- a simple set of clothing weighting 20kg
- the fact that stuff in your backpack is easier to carry, but cloths you wear are not (it IS definitely easier to carry cloths by wearing them, instead of carrying them in your hand)

I a lot of you are saying clothes are too heavy, but how about some examples? What clothes are you wearing, what do they weigh, and what do you think would be more reasonable? If you're wearing something like a conquistator's helmet, or beta armor, expect it to weigh several kilograms. Many capes are made from leather and hides, which tend to be a bit weighty. But if you can show that your Farmer's Pants, for example, weigh more than a typical pair of pants should, maybe there's a case for weight reductions in some areas.

Pretty sure that's not the point, he's talking about pants weighing the same on your legs and in your hands.

So, you don't want the weight of your clothing to be reduced. That's fine, I'll quit arguing with John in favor of it.

As someone just mentioned, it's likely the artifices that make the cloths heavy.

Bottom line is, no matter how you decorate your cloths with a button here and a lace there... 25kg for a normal set of cloths is ridiculous.

You want hard numbers?

Considering leather and artifices... 5kg would be reasonable, maybe 10kg in extreme cases, a full set of blank cloths, leather or not, should not weight more than 1-2kg!

For what I see with a quick research on the net, it's quite hard to find an accurate weight of garments from the 17th century. One needs to make an educated guess comparing with modern clothing. Deliberately chosing heavy duty leather clothing - as we should into consideration modern technology and more practical ways to refine leather and other materials - seems like a good idea. Then if indeed artifacts add to the weight of closing (which I haven't checked) shouldn't the weight of those artifacts be considerably reduced? I mean gold buttons shouldn't add more 100 grams right?

Then of course I am throwing out ideas without having made thorough research in game to know what clothes weigh what. I'll do that later if I find the time.
