At last found a iron ore vein. over 100 rubble and if i had strip mined would of been more like 500 till i got far enough to hit a vein, looks same as the rubble rocks with a grey color on it.

i've hit four veins so far, all of them with significantly more boulders than that. Are you sure you didn't miss part of your vein?

And it is also huge. Mined out 30 boulders and stopped, there are no signs of this vein's end yet.

Well thats the problem! Nobody got an ore vein by thumb twiddling. Get out there are start mining

Got to my 2nd vein now. makes up for the first one.
