I'm unsure if I should continue to buy iron from the market or create a mine at this point given that Mining will change.
Will all my efforts be wasted if I create a mine now?

I would wait to build your mines until after the patch. That being said. nothing stops you from choosing some 'lesser' mine location a few map tiles away from your base and just extracting from there.

I have a sign up to mark my mine but am waiting till after the patch to build it fully. Is that going to make the mine a new or old one? Or should I just destroy the sign to be safe?

I built a mine now, to use it as store when the new mining patch hits. I hope my plan works and the old mines will not be affected (too much)...

Does this advise apply only to purity (meaning we won't be able to get good ore from old mines) or to ability to mine at all?
