Here is the KKK's statement on this.
There has been much drama since the patch, and we are all very grateful for the kindness and support given to us by our allies and also the devs.
Based on what JC had previously said about v claim donuts to protect tbc's, we did not expect they would be allowed. Darwoth did know they'd been allowed, as is evident by his creation of such a donut to stage them in the day before the patch.
That was unfortunate for us as we'd not have set things up in the same way had we too known in advance. Any competent player with the resources available could and can now create something that isn't going to be breached before the time of the tbc is up.
Presented with that situation, we initially did our best to raid our way into it. We soon found there was no hope of success with our biles/numbers/knowledge but kept trying for some time anyway. We have later learned that there would have been way/s to get in had things been different / we had the chance to test various new stuff first which obviously we couldn't have done with just a few hours before two of our group's best combat characters would be dead (nvm my not even 100 bile charmander which i'd been using as a sacrificial murder alt). We strongly considered allowing the characters to be ported into the tbc to fight Darwoth, however even if they were able to defeat one Darwoth, he had another character in there which we'd seen and potentially numerous others logged out in case they were needed therefore we determined it would be foolish to expect anything other than death if we went in there. Having no hope left of surviving the situation, we made the extremely difficult and unpleasant choice of securing 70% inheritance by using the executioner. After the rollback we were presented with pretty much the same situation but we had even fewer members online to participate, so pretty much the same thing happened.
So what now? Wait and see, darling pilgrims
