Exactly, and the new system will mitigate against that.

What about purity systems that are balanced to LONGER than 2 months makes you think that the expeditions will last less than 2 weeks?

Mining purity is clearly unbalanced, it good to see the the devs recognize this and want to fix it as soon as possible.

The other things are balanced to the duration we want expeditions to last. There is no speeding them up. With the exception of Turkeys... They are too slow.

Turkey purity is not only slow but largely irrelevant.

Can't you just change the randomized variable that gives out purity iron boulders the deeper you go? That way, yes, you could get pure iron but you'd have to dig a lot more to have a chance at 90%+ or so, and when you did find one it would be a bigger deal.

Yes we could, but why not fix it more properly with a reworked system that will be far better in the long run.

Meh, losing storage mines would be a pain in the ass.

Are you saying legacy mines would be nerfed to not give pure iron? How would they be worse than new mines?

Right now we are leaning towards a solution that wouldn't cause players to lose mines, but instead just not have an incentive to make existing ones any larger.

I'd rather have my current mines reset then have them become useless for purity.

It's a tough call, but I guess if we were told about it and given enough time, I'd rather have that also. As long as we had time to clean them out. Say 2 weeks.

And of course the mines would have to be in the same location, otherwise I'd rather keep them for storage.

Some people have sheds and all sorts of stuff down there. I'd just lose like 10 smokers, a grinder and a press.

They first let you build stuff inside mines, 2 months later they'll nuke it all.
