Apparently it doesn't happen even if the fight is pre-arranged ¦]

A. Newbs who don't realize the correct course of action is alt f4 when you see someone on your minimap

B. Summon kills

I guess it's possible two people both looking for a fight sometimes run into one another. But how often does that really happen?

Well... I am a noob regarding this topic. However - I also believe I have read that closing the client with the "x" leaves you logged in for a little while longer. So I believe that using alt+F4 would also not be a smooth log out and still might get you killed.
And then... Even though I am not a brave, I am brave and just naturally do not like to log out. I am totally scared, but I just do not want to log out (even if, I guess I would be to slow anyway).

When it comes to combat it's all about incentives. Specifically, that running is pretty much always the best course of action given the loss you'd take if a character dies. Few people would risk a char by engaging in pvp in the lumberwoods. The potential losses are just too high and the rewards are pretty mcuh non-existent. Unless something about that changes you're not likely to get into fights outside of sieges or the dock club any time soon.

Its just terrible hard to engage someone in the wild unless they're AFK.

I do like a part of this tho, but its kinda too much, maybe something inbetween would do.

Channeling would be cool, most people don't have the luxery of watches. It would also skyline the watches, that would make you think twice before you use to for a noob.
