My characters do not show up after logging in. What happened?
Some 5 hours ago all was well.

Advice welcome. Have already deleted Salem-directory and deleted stored files in JAVA. No change.

make sure the search bar is clear when using the client, if you search a name all non matching entries are ignored, even spacebar counts as a search entry too so try clearing that.

Latikai client also has a filter for character names. In the character selection screen there is small textbox on the bottom. Make sure you haven't typed anything in there.

with the number of people that forget about the field, I think it wasn't actually such a good idea to remember it across client instances ...
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

it is now only possible by adding a specific exception to java, per this post

I've noticed that once foraging or wandering is turned on the foragables revealed remain. So in reality you don't need it on the whole time. Can you mod a movement which would run for 3 seconds, change to forage just long enough to load up the icons onto the minimap, change to run for 3 seconds... repeat. It would be choppy but you'd get the best of both worlds.

it would not work. I'll explain:

How forageables are loaded can be seen as follows. Imagine a square around your character (for HnH vets, ender's HnH client lets you show this square on the minimap). Each time a forageable enters this square (because of you moving), the server runs a check (throws a die or whatever you like to call it) whether you are able to see this forageable or not. The succes rate can depend on your wandering mode for example, but also on skills you have unlocked in certain cases. The client, however, does not forget about forageables it has seen, except when they once again leave this square. Therefore, the forage/wander flicking will not have an effect, because foraging needs to be active whenever a forageable crosses the square boundaries.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
