Why are fertile turkeys worth so much?

Yes - given the large amount of recipes that call for golden lace, golden eggs and golden bars, I think I want a golden goose as well.

For what it's worth, I have three fertile turkeys and haven't yet gotten a golden goose from them
So don't think your problems will be solved when you finally get one.

Well I actually got a fertile turkey some how, now I'm wondering how I get a golden goose from it. I guess it's just a waiting game then and to let it's eggs hatch and hope.
