Ah, After testing this I realize you said purity. Yes, it was intended that meat recipes would average the purity between all the meats. Considering there was no meat that couldn't have purity on it. When food groups have multiple items in the same food group it seemed reasonable that the purity would be the average of those. It is when corn recipes call for a meat ingredient that we drop the meat purity in the calculation.
