Trees have not been wiped yet on the test server. Although, there is also nothing to do with that purity lumber at the moment. Trees are now only used thus far for their purity when collecting nuts.

Thanks for the reply. I beg you sir please don't wipe their purity, I don't care much even if there is no point to raising it I just like doing it!

*hugs best tree*

Me too. I'm sure most my tree grinding effort will be transfered to berry bushes and nut/fruit trees but I'll likely keep a few of each type of tree at a decent purity even if there is never any benefit of doing so.

Tree farmers unite! I too shall hug my bestest of trees and just keep tending to them on the side just for fun :)

Bring out the chainsaws, tree purity grind was one of the most annoying grinds in H&H with whole forests being behind walls it contributed to massive base bloat, good riddance.

We are trying to leave grinds that may not have a purpose in place, if for no other reason than the bragging rights.

Purity Nodes look like they are staying in as well, although they will have little to no use @ the time of the patch we didn't find any reason to completely trash the ability to have different items in different areas of the world at least have some different values to them.

For them to be trash in a general sense, that would mean food ingredients as well as minerals. While i could understand minerals (but even then, you said pots keep an alchemical composition?) , if the minerals used to craft a pot don't give it any initial elemental comp and instead you have to rise it from the ground up, a la random test tube effect.

But if you're saying a 10% deer node would be trash, then are we to understand food will no longer have purity as we know it? Because if that were the case, it seems like between mines having random ore in the future, cauldrons having nothing special to mine for, inspirationals having nothing special to farm for purity wise, and whatever other grinds you have removed or invalidated, might leave the game wanting in terms of things to grind (as masochistic as that sounds).

So I'm curious how wrong i am about food purity and just your thoughts in general on the whole "I can't hold all these free tiemz" potentially not a potential issue.

Alright, I suppose I have tortured y'all for long enough. Considering we are now at a stage where much less is subject to change than a month ago, here are some highlights of the system so you can get a better feel for it.

*A New Element known as Aether has been discovered by Salemites.
*Salt has been removed, primarily because we have big plans for coarse salt in the future and we felt those two sharing names was confusing.
*Mercury, Sulphur & Lead are now known as the Impurities, while Aether represents the "Purity" of an item.
*Mercury has future plans (not this patch) to be the Impurity for Poison.
*Sulphur is the impurity for Accelerants
*Lead is the impurity for counterfeiting.
*Players who are grinding and dealing in impurities most certainly are either partaking in, or supplying, nefarious purposes.
*Food & Tools only care about the Aether value element. The rest of the elements it does not.
*Inspirationals don't take into consideration any element and will be modified in the future via other mechanics.
*All spawns in the world spawn with 0% Aether and various Impurity Distributions.
*Pots, Fields, and any other structure that we consider needing Aether values will have those values 'grow' with the character. I.E. a pot is not pure based on the materials that made the pot, rather the quantity of purity goods that have been harvested from the pot. Therefore, the purity on these things changes over time and is not static upon build completion.
*At this moment in time we are putting in effort so that players goods will have their multiplier transferred to the Aether Element, with their remaining impurities randomized.
*Alchemy will be reserved for the grinding of impurities. Aether will be raised through systems and grinds inside your walls independent of the Alchemy process.

There is a tiny snapshot for you. Keep in mind all the 'evil' purity grinds will not make it in this patch, however, we are leaving that design space open so that we may one day get to it.

Thanks for that :) Nice to catch a glimpse of mechanics to come. I guess in the future I'll be the accelerant vendor, whatever that is xD

Go ahead and read the fire implications.

Some poor noob is going to have his hovel torched all because you insist in dealing in black market impurities. Shame on you sir.
