Had an idea, not sure if it works, but could be a pretty big ***** move if it does, and add an extra factor to trading.

Say you are selling an expensive item, and you want to get it back after, if you give it to a friend, then have them just put it in a container on their base and you "steal" it off their base, if the scent stays with said item, and sold to someone who does not have tracking on would it then be possible to follow that scent to the purchasers base? Just a thought.

While its unlikely that he scented the item, tracked you down and is waiting to kill you, if you don't have the defenses to keep people like that out your resources would probably have been better spent on defenses.
